  Thallus endophloeodal to epiphloeodal, to c. 300 µm thick, pale greenish grey to pale yellowish grey, dull to slightly glossy, smooth, ±rugose to verrucose, strongly rimose. Thallus with a discontinuous to continuous protocortex to c. 35 µm thick. Algal layer moderately to well developed, ±continuous; calcium oxalate crystals abundant, small to large, usually clustered. Isidia concolorous with the thallus, irregular, to c. 0.3 mm wide, with a depressed to stalk-like base, usually developing from a pit-like depression. Ascomata inconspicuous, usually very sparse or absent, to c. 0.8 mm diam., ±rounded, perithecioid, solitary, becoming distinctly emergent, irregularly hemispherical, hemispherical or irregularly urceolate in older ascomata. Disc not visible from above. Pores minute, to c. 0.07 mm diam., ±rounded, entire; proper exciple not visible from above. Thalline rim margin thick, concolorous with the thallus, incurved. Proper exciple fused, pale yellowish to pale orange internally, orange to yellowish brown or brownish marginally, weakly to distinctly amyloid at the base. Hymenium to c. 250 µm thick, not inspersed, strongly conglutinated; paraphyses thin, parallel, unbranched, straight to slightly bent in basal parts, distinctly curly distally, the tips slightly thickened; lateral paraphyses and columellar structures absent. Epihymenium hyaline, without granules. Asci 1–2-spored; tholus and lateral walls uniformly thick when immature, becoming thin. Ascospores muriform, oblong to ±rounded-fusiform, with ±rounded to narrowly rounded ends, hyaline, non-amyloid, 80–200 × 20–38 µm, with numerous locules; locules rather small, ±angular, variously shaped; transverse septa thin, becoming somewhat irregular and indistinct; ascospore wall thin, non-halonate; endospore thin. Pycnidia not seen.
CHEMISTRY: Thallus K+ orange-red, C–, P–; containing norstictic acid (major), connorstictic acid (trace), subnorstictic acid (trace), hyposalazinic acid (trace).
     
  A corticolous endemic in rainforest in eastern Qld and north-eastern N.S.W., at altitudes of 300–1130 m.
